Space in a centrally located natural setting.

On the edge of the “Caldera de Taburiente” National Park, in a beautiful green setting with spectacular views, lies the country house Casa Madera. A spacious wooden house with a total built-up area of about 360 m², on a plot of almost 6,000 m². The “Barrial del Medio” neighbourhood is located on the southern flank of the Pico de Bejenado, just 5 minutes from the village of El Paso and barely 15 minutes from the town of Los Llanos de Aridane. The airport and seaport are also a feasible distance away, at most half an hour.

Access to the house is possible via two driveways from the east and west, both with a lockable gate. The paved driveways lead to the main house, where there is direct access to a large indoor garage at the rear (floor -1). From this garage there is indoor access to the basement with two spacious storage rooms, a sauna with shower and a separate laundry room.

An interior staircase leads to the ground floor with the following rooms:

 bright spacious bedrooms,

– a bathroom with bathtub,

– a spacious open kitchen with living room with adjacent reading corner and adjoining conservatory (facing the morning sun),

– the main entrance door on the west side, next to it is another guest toilet,

– a third room currently set up as an office.

The windows (double-glazed) are large throughout the house, allowing plenty of light in. (There is a blackout system for summer.) From the living room, there is access through large sliding doors to a terrace with an adjacent large garden with beautiful views of the Birigoyo and the characteristic cloudfall over the mountain ridge. Due to the law against light pollution and the location of this property, the night views are very spectacular!

An external staircase leads to a complete flat with stunning views. It has a bedroom, a kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. There are two spacious balconies with sea and mountain views offering enough space for a table and chairs or loungers. The south-facing terrace can be accessed from both the living room and the bedroom.

Apart from the pleasant living atmosphere, the place is also ideal for agricultural projects such as growing avocados, fruit trees, etc, thanks to the large plot belonging to the property. For green lovers, special mention should be made of the two huge underground water reservoirs with a total capacity of no less than 2 million litres (2,000 m³), which collect rainwater from the surrounding area via an ingenious system. Through a very complete irrigation system, divided into 12 separate groups and programmable, the fertile soil is automatically watered. There is another separate watering system on the property with connections for manual watering everywhere. A delight for any gardener.

There are two cottages present partly as support for the water infrastructure and partly as storage.

Water rights for mineral water from the nearby mountains are also included! This is mainly for drinking and household use, the surplus being led to the irrigation tanks.

There are several seating areas on the property and many mature fruit trees such as oranges, apples, plums, figs, kiwis, avocados and the largest macadamia tree we have seen on La Palma.

On the second plot, to the east of the main one, there is also a very spacious garage with alternative uses, with a roof terrace from where you also have great views of the surroundings. The rest of the plot is very flat and already has some Hass avocado trees. So, this part can easily be separated with its own entrance.

There is the possibility of a fibre-optic internet connection, as well as satellite TV and telephone connection. The house also has central heating and double glazing, but the insulation value is such that the room temperature is generally very comfortable without having to use the central heating.  A pleasant living environment for all seasons!

An ideal house for nature lovers, with direct access to the hiking trail to the Caldera de Taburiente National Park and to the Pico de Bejenado.
